My Screening Process

I know screening is uncomfortable for clients. But after careful consideration I have decided that thorough screening is non-negotiable for me. I will not share my private address with someone I don’t know, and I will not put myself in a vulnerable situation with an anonymous person.

How I Screen

To screen I need your real name, DOB and an “official” photo that proves what you look like. This could be a driver’s license, work badge or school ID. Your name and photo must be clearly visible, but other sensitive information may be blacked out. I will also accept LinkedIn if you have completed their CLEAR verification process and your photo is publicly viewable. I run your name against publicly-available databases to see if you are a real person and if you have any history of violence or domestic abuse. Some of the sites I use include:

  • TruthFinder

  • CBI Public Records

  • National Sex Offender Registry

Everything I discover on these sites is already on the internet or in public records. You can search yourself if you want to see what I’m looking at!

Failed Screenings

Not everyone who applies to meet me is a good match. And that’s okay! If you do not pass my screening, it doesn’t mean I think you’re a horrible person. Other reasons might include:

  • You have reviews of other providers that reveal a preference for services I don’t provide

  • I don’t feel comfortable with individuals who use heavy drugs/alcohol

  • You are someone I know personally or are closely associated with someone I know well

  • You’re a ghost - I can’t find any information about you at all

I make a point of sending a polite message to let you know that I do not intend to move forward with scheduling. If this happens, please don’t feel bad! Not everyone is a good match. I want to make sure I provide my best service to clients and sometimes that means I have to say no. If this happens, please do not ask me “why” because it puts me in a very uncomfortable situation… a truthful answer may reveal too much! Just know that my rejection is not personal; I simply believe that we are not a good fit.

After I’m Done

I take your privacy very seriously! I can’t claim to value discretion if I am lax with the information you have entrusted to me.

After I am done screening I delete your identifying information from my phone and laptop. In the highly unlikely scenario that my computer/phone are hacked, stolen or confiscated, there will be no record of your information to be found.

I don’t think that screening should be a mysterious process, and I hope my transparency helps you to feel more confident in me. If you have any questions about my privacy practices or screening, I always welcome questions by email or text.

Ready to Start? Email Me!

Send an email to heathersiran@proton.me with the following information:

  • Your full legal name

  • DOB

  • Photo ID that clearly shows your name and picture (other sensitive info may be blacked out)

  • Phone number

  • Any additional info that will help me get to know you better (review board profile, social media, etc.)

I work on screenings M-Th in the morning before my day begins. Depending on how busy I am, I am usually able to get them done in 2-3 working days after receipt. This means if you send a screening on Thursday, it will probably be done the following Monday or Tuesday. Once I am done, I will email you back and/or send a text message inviting you to schedule.

Still Not Sure? Let’s Chat in Person

If you absolutely don’t want to send me your info over email, you can screen in person. I charge a flat $60 for a coffee date where we can meet safely in public and chat. And if you decide to book a session after our coffee date, I will apply the $60 towards your first booking! Please email or text if you would like to schedule a coffee date. I look forward to meeting you!
